How do you use sand to exfoliate and do you have any ideas what to do with sand?

I have sand from the river and do not know what to do with it. Ideas? How do you use sand to exfoliate and do you have any ideas what to do with sand?
My mother had a dangerous deep narrow step out to her garage--I painted it bright white and sprinkled fine sand on it to give it traction. If you don't need this, perhaps you could do it as a kindness for someone who might need it . Find some leftover paint somewhere and Voila!

Have a lot? Keep it covered in a box or bin in a sunny spot. When you are tired, sore, or stressed, go to your sand and sink your feet in, or lie down in it. Extremely relaxing, good for the muscles, and you will think about the gorgeous river it came from.

Now, if you happen to have a water fountain nearby... A-a-a-h-h-h Talk about mini-vacations!How do you use sand to exfoliate and do you have any ideas what to do with sand?
That depends on how much sand you have and what your needs are. It's probably too rough to use as an exfoliant. You could till it into clay soil to improve drainage or sterilize it and use as a hydroponic growing medium. Mix it with cement to make concrete. Make a sandbox.
If you have nice, fine sand you could make a Japanese rock garden (Zen Garden).

Sugar or salt would probably make a better skin exfoiliant.
